Frequently Asked Questions


Q. How do I make a reservation?
A. You can make a tentative reservation by phoning 888-872-4612 (toll-free) or by sending an e-mail to condo@signalcc.com. The telephone number above is the number of our business, Softrail, Inc., but rings through to our home after 5 p.m. and on weekends. We prefer to receive calls about the condo after normal business hours. If you send an e-mail please provide the week(s) you would like to reserve, your name, address, and telephone number. We will respond with either a telephone call or a return e-mail.

Q. What happens next?
A. Upon acceptance of a tentative reservation, we will update our website to show the week as tentatively reserved and send the rental agreement to the renter. The rental agreement should be signed and returned with the reservation depsosit. We will hold the tentative reservation for ten (10) days in anticipation of receiving the signed rental agreement and reservation deposit.

Q. How much is the reservation deposit?
A. A deposit in the amount of $400 per week is required to confirm a reservation. This deposit will be applied toward the total bill for the rental.

Q. When will further payments be due?
A. The balance of the total bill for the rental will be due four weeks prior to the rental.

Q. Are there any additional charges beyond the rental rate?
A. Rentals are subject to state and local sales and accommodations taxes (11%). A security deposit in the amount of $100 per week is also part of the total bill for the rental. The security deposit will be refunded after key return if the unit is left in the same condition in which it was found.

Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. We accept payment in the form of personal checks or credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover) charges.

Q. How do renters get the keys to the condo.
A. We send key sets to the renter approximately two weeks prior to the check-in date.

Q. How are the keys returned?
A. We provide a self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of the keys.

Q. Can I make a reservation for a time period that is less than six weeks from now?
A. Yes, we have separate procedures if the time period in which you are interested is less than six weeks from now. You must, however, have access to a fax machine and be able to pay the total bill for the rental with a credit card. Please call us at our toll-free number (888-872-4612) if your would like more information about reserving our condo on short notice.

Q. Do you provide linens?
A. We provide bath, bed, and kitchen linens. We provide eight bath towels, four hand towels, eight wash cloths, and two tub mats per bathroom in our condo. Please do not take our towels to the pool or beach.

Q. Are renters required to clean the condo prior to check out?
A. Included in the rental rate is a departure cleaning service. The renter is required to only wash all dishes and cooking utensils used during the rental, return these items to the kitchen cupboards, dispose of any unused food, and take out the trash.

Q. What is included in the kitchen?
A. The kitchen is fully equipped with stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, crock pot, can opener, hand mixer, cookware, bakeware, dishes, and glassware.

Q. What items should we pack for our vacation?
A. Beyond clothing and toiletry items, you need only bring beach towels, paper products, laundry soap (if you intend to use the washer/dryer) and dishwasher soap. We provide a full roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and a roll of paper towels in the kitchen and laundry room. This supply of paper products will probably not last for your entire vacation.

Q. Are beach chairs provided?
A. We have a seasonal rental of two beach chairs and a beach umbrella which are set up on the beach each day during the summer rental season (Memorial Day through Labor Day) by the lifeguard service. Renters are welcome to use our umbrella and chairs.

Q. Who do we contact if there is a problem (clogged sink/AC/other) with the unit during our rental? A. Contact either Security, the Homeowners Association Office at Maisons sur Mer, our private clenaer, or us (888-872-4612).

Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. All monies paid will be refunded if written notification of cancellation is received at least 30 days prior to the rental period and unit is re-rented. If written notification is received in a timely fashion but unit is not re-rented, monies deposited will be retained by OWNER, but can be applied to another reservation of 707 Maisons sur Mer for GUEST, within one year of original reservation. Failure of GUEST to notify OWNER, in writing, of need to cancel will result in complete forfeiture of all monies deposited.

Q. What is your hurricane policy?
A. In the event of a mandatory hurricane evacuation, we will return all monies paid for nights not used.
